Personnel of the C., H. & D. Syndicate.
Eastern Report Gives Names of Men Now in Control of Cincinnati Property - The New Directors.

There is still much speculation in the financial district as to personnel of the syndicate which has recently acquired the controlling interest in the C., H. & D. Railway company.  A report from the East Tuesday morning stated that the syndicate is composed of F. H. Prince, T. F. Ryan, H. Clay Pierce, Newman Erb, George H. Norman and Thomas H. West.  G. H. Norman is chairman of the directors of the Pere Marquette Railroad company, and F. H. Prince is president of the road.  These gentlemen make their headquarters at Boston.  Newman Erb and Thos. F. Ryan are directors of the Pere Marquette, and live in New York.  Thomas H. West is also a director in the Pere Marquette and resides St. Louis, H. Clay Pierce is closely identified with many railroad propositions throughout the country, and has been conspicuous in the building up of many systems.  His connection with various Mexican systems had added to his fortune, and he is now very closely identified with the Rock Island system. No announcement has as yet been made as to which of thee men will enter the new board of directors of the C., H. & D. Railway company in connection with the change of control recently effected.  The annual meeting of the directors will occur October 11, and there is some talk that the new directors may not be elected until that time.  The terms of four of the directors expire in October.  These four directors are G. P. Benjamin, Herman Dowd, C. A. Mayer and Eugene Zimmerman.  The latter, it is stated, will be re-elected, and it is rumored that the others will retire, and it is also rumored that in addition to retiring as president of the C., H. & D., M. D. Woodford will resign, as director of the road.  Officials of the C., H. & D., however, will not make any announcements regarding the probably changes in the board of directors.
