Little "Louisville" Is an Attractive
Pony
One of the Latest Acquistions
of the Gentry show is Attracting a Great Deal of Attention.
The newest acquisition of the Gentry Brothers’ Dog and Pony show is “Louisville,” the diminutive Shetland pony, shown in the picture with Toy, its mother. Louisville was born last week in the Kentucky city whose name he bears. It weighed less than twelve pounds at birth, and even now is the smallest horse in the world. It comes of a family of midgets. Its mother is an exceedingly small specimen, and the father, Thimble, is but little taller than its offspring. The new pony is the only one of the hundred of animals in the County show that is not an actor, but his amiable manners and value as an advertisement amply pay for his feed. The Gentry family of dogs, ponies, monkeys, baby elephants, camels, sacred cattle and zebras travels in a train of twelve cars, which arrived in Cincinnati Sunday. The Gentry season opened in Louisville last week. Cincinnati is the second of thirty metropolitan cities to be played by the company, which is made up of two of the Gentry shows. He tents are pitched on Walnut Hills, at Oak street and Stanton avenue, and the first performance was given Monday afternoon. There will be a street parade and matinee daily while the show is in the city.
