I Patrick Long, of the County of Hamilton and State of Ohio; Considering the uncertainty of Life do make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner and form following:
1st I will and direct that, as soon as practicable after my decease, my funeral charges and lawful debts be paid.
2nd I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Ailes all my household and kitchen furniture, my mansion house, with the dooryard and garden, also one horse and two cows, also sufficient pasture and forage for each yearly, also a sufficiency of firewood, in fire lengths, delivered in the dooryard as she needs it, also sixty dollars yearly and every year, the above legacy to be continued as long as she continues my widow and no longer.
3dly I will and devise my homestead farm to my son James (with the lien or incumbrance of his mother’s dower upon it. Also he is to pay all my lawful debts and the legacies herein after given to my daughters) to come into his possession upon my demise; Also I will and bequeath to him all my personal estate not herein otherwise disposed of.
4thly I will to each of my daughters, or their heirs, viz. Sarah Wilson, Margaret Schenck, the heir of Mary Lane dec’d, Jane Hagerman, Isabella Lane, each twenty five dollars, to be paid to them severally in the order of their seniority, in the yearly payments, that is one legacy each year till all be paid. The first legacy to be paid within three years after my decease, and as much sooner as practicable for James.
5thly I will and bequeath to my daughter Rebeccah a first setting out, after her marriage (or within one year after my decease) equal to that of her other sisters; and one hundred dollars to [be] paid in the order specified in Section 4th of this will; But as long as she shall live single, it is my will that she live with James and her mother, as she now does, and have her board and bedroom free of cost.
6th I appoint my beloved wife Ailes and my son James executrix and executor of this my last will and testament In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty sixth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty three.
